Entrepreneurship has been promoted by governments and international agencies as a solution to high rates of youth unemployment not only in Egypt but in the Middle East and North Africa. But does it deliver? Join as this Saturday at 15 GMT as Dr. Reham Rizk discusses this topic. Dr. Rizk will also shed light on the trends and patterns of women’s role in household non-agricultural enterprises in Egypt and assess the impact of COVID-19 on labor markets, focusing on firms.



Dr. Rizk is currently Head of the Modelling and Social Protection Unit at Egypt's Ministry of Planning and Economic Development. Previously, she was associate professor at Universities of Canada and at the British University in Egypt. Dr. Rizk joined Tahya-Misr Fund as a Senior Economist and is currently a research associate at the Economic Research Forum.
