Dr. Izadin Almohammady, Former Iraqi minister, doctor of criminal law, academic, journalist, international arbitration advisor and international election expert. Izadin Almohammady began his career as a school manager, in addition to his work in the field of media and publishing as an official in the publishing and media department, He is the founder of the Crescent Cultural and Humanitarian Magazine and a member of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate. He had also a path in the humanitarian field, Where he assumed several responsibilities, starting with a field officer for disaster relief, and working with the International Committee of the Red Cross and Red Crescent in implementing relief programs and building volunteer networks. He also served as Secretary General of the Karkuk Institute for Human Rights Studies, and a member of the Iraqi Jurists Union.
In 2004, he was elected by the United Nations as a member of the Council of the Independent High Electoral Commission in Iraq, and later as president of the Council. In 2005, as a minister, he oversaw the establishment of the electoral institution and the organization of the first elections and a constitutional referendum in Iraq after 2003. In 2013, Mr. Almohammady crowned his academic path by obtaining a doctorate degree in criminal law and participated in more than 32 international and national conferences, during which he presented many research and studies in the fields of law, human rights, civil state-building, anti-corruption, international humanitarian law, international arbitration Protection of civilians during military conflicts, peacebuilding, peaceful coexistence, and civil protection. Also, he has many published and under-publishing books.
